The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has gone a step ahead in bringing distinguished rules in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The board has introduced a concept of Power Player where a player can be substituted at the fall of a wicket or at the end of an over at any point in the game, according to an IANS report.

“We are looking at a scenario where a team will not name the Playing XI.”

The concept will be discussed further in the IPL Governing Council meeting that will take place in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The rule will be put on trial in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy scheduled to begin this month.
