Glenn Maxwell, the explosive all-rounder of the Australian cricket team, created a storm of runs in the Big Bash League (BBL) on Wednesday. Playing for Melbourne Stars, he scored 154* in 64 balls against Hobart Hurricanes, in which the right-handed batsman hit 22 fours and 4 sixes.
33-year-old Maxwell went to the opening against Hobart Hurricanes and as soon as he arrived, he started beating the bowlers fiercely. Maxwell scored a half-century in just 20 balls and reached a century in 41 balls.
Apart from Maxwell, the dashing all-rounder Marcus Stoinis also batted brilliantly, scoring 75* runs in 31 balls, in which he hit 6 sixes and 4 fours. Along with this, he also played an unbeaten partnership of 132 * runs in 54 balls for the third wicket of Maxwell.
Batting first, Melbourne Stars scored 273 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Nepal’s star spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, playing for Hobart’s team, proved to be the most expensive bowler. He spent 52 runs in 4 overs.
