In the 42nd match of the Big Bash League (BBL), Perth Scorchers defeated Sydney Sixers by a margin of 5 wickets. Batting first, Sydney Sixers scored 151 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Playing in reply, Perth won the match by scoring 152 for 5 in 19 overs.

Sydney Sixers won the toss and elected to bat which proved to be correct. Josh Philippe and Avendano put on 56 runs for the first wicket. Meanwhile, Philip got out after scoring 32 runs in 22 balls. After him Avendano also went on after scoring 23 runs. With the fall of one more wicket, there was a decrease in the run rate. Daniel Hughes scored 25 runs. Apart from them, Jordan Silk scored 26 not out and Daniel Christian scored 35 not out, taking the team’s score to 151 for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Ashton Agar took two wickets for Perth.
